I really like this product, easy to assemble and add and remove keys. I didn't really think through the fact the keys would be exposed in my pocket, that's on me. Coming from a Ridge product that hides the key, that took some getting used to. The issue I have is actually rotating the keys to use them. I wish the holder was just a little longer because you can't rotate the keys out of the way, at least enough for me. Overall, the product works. I will continue to use it but I think there could be some minor refinements to make it even better.
Before this one, I tried the KeySmart Air Tag Holder and the Bellroy Key Cover. Neither was suitable for the single skeleton key I have alongside shorter modern flat keys. The Ekster holder is great for this – since it only cares about one end of the keys, any length key works.
It feels very well made with small tolerances, and is very pleasing in the hand. And it makes the bunch of keys into a very pleasing streamlined object in your pocket.
It's a bit annoying how the flat Find My tracker beeps if you accidentally press it – I don't believe this has any function – but that's a separate if related product.
With some lock placements, you have to be a bit aware of how you fold out your keys, or the other keys might poke out at an angle that hits the door frame. In this respect, it's a bit more faffy than a "normal" key chain, but it's absolutely worth it.
I really love the setup with a magnetically attached ring to use e.g. for a car key fob. Works great.
I really liked the idea of the Ekster Key Holder, but in practice, I found it uncomfortable to use. My preference when using my keys is to have one key extended to unlock the door, while the rest stay tucked into the palm of my hand. With the key holder, I tried to rotate the unused keys 180° away from my hand while extending the one key I needed. However, because of the design, the central part of the holder — the part the keys are attached to — had to rotate 90°, which caused it to poke into my hand. There just wasn’t enough room for the keys to rotate freely within the holder.
Ultimately, I ended up returning the key holder. Once my return is processed, I plan to try the Ekster Key Case instead. I’m hoping it will work better for me, since the main issue I had was not being able to hold the keys lined up naturally in my hand without something bulky digging into it.
I love how it keeps my keys quiet and secure. The powder coated holder is very appealing to me.
The only reason it’s not 5 stars is the black ring broke with less than a month of use.
A simple yet very handy design.
Got some of these when they first launched on Kickstarter and now I wish I had gotten more.
Magnetic strength is pretty legit. Not to strong but not to weak. Enough to stop my keys and everything else to stop making so much noise when I walk.
Love putting my house keys and car keys on these. Don't gotta take everything off when I just need the one or two keys.
Some of the Product photos that's not incorrect. The product sold for ~$25 is a key holder with out the cover. It would help the buyer to show th procut that is at the price point and not show photos of the higher priced version
I like the size of this key holder and the amount of keys it holds. It keeps the keys apart pretty well so they don’t rub on each other, wearing them down.
I was happy with my previous holder which Ekster also makes. Yet over the several years I have had it, it has worn a good bit. The all metal design of this key holder makes it impervious to my constant and demanding use of my set of work keys. It is neat, ergonomically made, and grants me the ability to access my keys quickly while also able to keep them in an orderly manner in my pocket without looking like I have some unseemly wad of wires in my front pocket! Extremely pleased with the design and workmanship—the strong magnet allowing me to detach the less essential keys is a big plus!
the magnetic latch is thought i was a bit concerned at the begining. I dont use it to hold any keys so i have no opinion on the practicality of the devce. The little rubber pads/ buffers are adding to the quality of the build by making a truth solid piece
As the title states. I kinda regret not getting the key tracker fob when I got my key holder. It is honestly a perfect way to hold my keys and it matches my set up I use everyday. But I've since lost my keys due to brushing against something and the keys popped off.
I’ve only been using if for a short while, but the key holder is amazing! I thought the different design of the key ring would be problematic, but it holds everything very well! I usually keep it on my belt loop so it bounces around a lot when I walk but nothing has fallen off of it. The magnet on the key ring is very strong, and makes taking it on and off my belt loop super convenient when I need to use my keys. I’d also recommend getting the key tracker with it. It works super well and it really puts the whole look together.
Very happy with this purchase!
Most people never think about their key holder. But for me, after years of the typical key holder/chain that would, at some point, bunch up in your trouser/jean pocket and end up stabbing you in your thigh or make your pockets look bulky, I decided to purchase this key holder with the key finder fob.
It is such a well thought out and designed piece of equipment. My keys are always flat, together, and most of all comfortable in my pocket. And the key fob finder is a great accessory. Not only can you pair it with your phone to help you find your keys, but if you can’t find your phone but have your keys, you can press the key fob to find your phone.
This is the 2nd set of products I have purchased from Ekster, the first being the Carbon Fiber Cardholder with the tracker card.
Ekster is a company I will continue to buy from!!!
So at the first of the month, I ordered this, ready to use a new key system.
I thought it came with a part that covered the keys (not sure why I thought I needed that). When I realized that it was the key finder in the picture after my order had already shipped, I planned on returning it after it arrived.
That would have been a huge mistake!!!
I absolutely love this key keeper!!!!
I have gone from 3 different, bulky key rings to just this. AMAZING!!!
I have used a double ended keeper years ago, but much prefer this design. I like the way it comes together and the quick detatch for my truck fob.
Great job guys!!!
The Ekster Key Holder is a great way to keep your keys together, quietly. I tried a few others but this one works great. The magnet that keeps it attached is very strong and so far seems to hold really well.
