The coin tray is thin and light, fits very nicely under the strap.
The coin tray works in holding a couple of coins and some folded notes, but it can be quite constricted and sometimes I worry that it might scratch the surface of the Cardholder Pro. Additionally, the instructions of how to properly add it to the cardholder are unclear. Having said that, it does provide a means of holding a couple of coins in a minimalist wallet and I am still using it, so overall I'm satisfied.
I had been looking for a new wallet in the UK for some time after my old leather wallet had too much wear and tear. I was aware of other minimalist wallets through YouTube so decided to look around at all of the various options and chose the Ekster Cardholder Pro, along with the coin tray, tool card, and cash clip backplate.
Using all of the accessories I had purchased, I tried a variety of different combinations (including a third party tracking card from Pebblebee since I wanted one that worked with Android and not Apple Find My) and settled on using the standard backplate with the coin tray for my cash folded into thirds. Unfortunately the coin tray is too shallow for British pound coins so I would not recommend it for that purpose but I preferred having my cash hidden from the exterior and giving the wallet a very clean look over using the clip which also doesn't allow the wallet to sit flat on a surface. I keep the original backplate with the coin tray as it allows the tray to slide easier and combined with the band allows the wallet to sit flat.
Provided you're not someone who carries a bunch of cash, coins, or paper (such as receipts), then I would absolutely include this accessory in your purchase. It's just too convenient to be able to slide out and securely store something in the wallet that's completely out of sight from the exterior.
Bear in mind the purpose of switching to a wallet like this is also to reduce the amount that you carry and over the past month, I've been extremely happy with both the product and my new habits as a result of the Ekster Cardholder Pro and accessories.

Unlike the other Ekster products I have I'm not sure about this. I bought it along with a wallet and can't seem to find a place for it. You can't put it in the card holder, it takes up too much space, you could put it in a card slot on the wallet but again takes up space. The tray itself is well made and good quality, I'm just not sure it has a purpose in a space saving wallet.

The tray looks great and does the job, but the coins still shift around and make some noise when moved. It’s okay overall.
It’s a very good idea, but imagine walking down the street and making noise like a piggy bank. I ended up putting soft material inside to prevent the noise. Also if leaves some dents in the wallet itself.

I love my new wallet, I only wish there were two things different.
1. An added hole somewhere on it so it could be temporarily hooked onto a key chain or the like, when needed.
2. An improved money/cash clip. Not sure how; maybe a lip on the edge so cash can’t slide out so easily when in your pocket.
All and all a great product that I am very pleased with!

The idea of the coin tray is good the execution leaves much to be desired. The coins make so much noise rattling around with every movement that we we’d rather not use it.
Sadly I wanted to use it for a small lift key that I use everyday -and it just rattles like crazy. I can’t imagine coins are better, don’t buy it. They need to add felt to the sides and bottom of the coin tray for it to be a good add on

i like the coin tray to use as my "emergency" cash. it is not something i would find useful for daily use, or to hold a house key etc in, unless you wrapped it in something to keep it from clanking around. but i threw in the few hundred i used to keep tucked in my wallet for the -ATM is down...dont take credit cards places...drove down a backroad and found the random sauna or flamingo yard art that i just had to have from a deliverence style yard sale etc. so for that i say i like it. maybe ill go shop for a canoe and get 3 of my buddies to go raft/camping now

Quality is excellent, very happy overall. The user manual is completely worthless, it would be nice to know what accessory is supposed to go where. I think I figured it out but it took way longer than it should have.
I got the coin tray because of my child was abroad to Japan to hold the yen however, I recently discovered that this actually is a good place to put cash instead of in the band and access it conceal there for the cash which is pretty cool can hold five bills and then not show
Coin holder takes up the space of about 2 credit cards and holds a few quarters. Haven’t figured out how much to put in to make it not make noise when I move the wallet.
